May they eat and eat and eat until the Emerald Ash Borer stops its rampage through the Midwest.##
We had our Ash Trees treated and hope they survive! And we have lots of Woodpeckers around—yea! Thanks for your help!!!
The wrens have decided to stay in their little nest on our porch—altho the babies must be big enough by now. When we come out–we are scolded by Papa Wren!! He seems to be taking tidbits to his family!
I reduced the number of ash trees that I had treated this year out of concern for the woodpeckers that might feed on any emerald ash borers. Not sure whether the birds would be harmed by the pesticide or not but decided to play it safe. Well, partially…I still treated a couple of trees near a neighbor’s property. Now I’m a little disappointed that the WSJ article mentions only the red-bellied woodpecker and not all the downy and red-headeds that I had hoped were also pitching in!
